Why Kuala Lumpur Fleets Can't Delay SLD Compliance
Greater Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley carry Malaysia's densest concentration of commercial traffic — feeding Port Klang, the country's largest and busiest port, and moving freight along the North–South Expressway, the Federal Highway, and the KESAS highway every day. From 1 July 2026, any goods vehicle above 3,500 kg or passenger vehicle above 5,000 kg carrying more than 8 passengers that lacks a verified Speed Limitation Device will fail Puspakom inspection and lose its road permit. For a Klang Valley operator running tight distribution windows across the city, a grounded vehicle is a broken delivery schedule. Fitting a compliant SLD now is the difference between staying on the road and being parked at the deadline.
One Compliant Device, Configured for Klang Valley Fleets
A JPJ-compliant Speed Limitation Device set to the 90 km/h cap and matched to the vehicle's ECU
A UN R89-aligned, tamper-resistant unit proven on 200,000+ vehicles across 20+ countries
Both Puspakom documents prepared in advance — the SLD Functionality Verification Certificate and Laporan Kefungsian SLD
Configuration suited to depot-based haulage, distribution and bus fleets running Port Klang and the Klang Valley expressways
Configuration, fitting guidance, operator training, and after-sales support from a dedicated manufacturer
Why Klang Valley Operators Choose a Manufacturer, Not Just an Installer
The Klang Valley has no shortage of workshops, but a speed limiter is only as good as the device behind it. Resolute Dynamics designs and manufactures the SLD itself, so a Kuala Lumpur fleet gets hardware proven on 200,000+ vehicles across 20+ countries, configured to JPJ's 90 km/h rule and backed directly by the maker — not a reseller fitting someone else's box. For a large distribution or bus fleet, that means consistent configuration across every vehicle and one accountable partner for support, renewals and audits.

Kuala Lumpur SLD FAQs
Which Puspakom branch handles SLD verification in Kuala Lumpur?
Klang Valley commercial-vehicle verification is handled at Puspakom Wangsa Maju, Taman Bukit Maluri and Padang Jawa, with private-vehicle inspection at Batu Caves, Pandan Mewah and Glenmarie. From 16 June 2026, new recognised centres open at Glenmarie, Kajang, Klang and Wangsa Melawati. Book early — slots tighten before the 1 July 2026 deadline.
Are Port Klang haulage trucks covered by the mandate?
Yes. Prime movers and container haulers serving Port Klang exceed the 3,500 kg GVW threshold and fall squarely inside the JPJ SLD mandate, alongside distribution trucks and express and tour buses operating across the Klang Valley.
Does the speed limiter affect normal Klang Valley operations?
No. The device caps top speed at the legal 90 km/h limit and does not interfere with normal city and expressway driving below that. It simply prevents the vehicle from exceeding the governed speed, which is where enforcement and safety risk concentrate.
When does enforcement apply to existing KL vehicles?
Vehicles registered after 1 January 2015 came under enforcement from 1 October 2025, and vehicles registered before that date from 1 January 2026. The final retrofit deadline for all covered vehicles is 1 July 2026, after which any non-compliant vehicle fails Puspakom inspection and loses its road permit.
